MovieCraft Renovator

A 16 and 35 mm film restoration machine for the preventive conservation treatment of film documents: from the feed reel to material ready for storage — in a single pass through solution treatment, polishing, rinsing and drying.

How It Works

Nine Stages of a Single Pass

Film moves through the path continuously — from the feed-reel unwinder to the take-up reel winder, passing through every processing section.

1

Feed Reel Unwinder

Film is fed into the machine's transport path.

2

Input Buffer Magazine

An adjustable film buffer allows continuous pulling when changing the feed reel.

3

Solution Treatment Section

Passes through 8 tanks with specialized solutions.

4

Polishing Section

Rotating rollers polish the emulsion layer.

5

Rinsing Section

Two tanks of distilled water rinse away solution residue.

6

Air Knife

An airflow removes remaining water droplets from the film surface.

7

Drying Section

7 drying cabinets with individual temperature and airflow control.

8

Output Buffer Magazine

An adjustable film buffer accepts material when changing the take-up reel.

9

Take-Up Reel Winder

The processed film is wound onto a finished reel.

Controls

User Interface

Machine operating modes are set using an intuitive touch panel interface. It also dynamically displays operating parameters — film speed, temperature and air supply in each section, and the status of drives and limit switches.
